As the prices of related raw materials such as graphite electrodes continue to rise recently, the pressure on production costs of brown fused alumina companies has continued to increase, and manufacturers’ willingness to increase prices is very strong. In addition, due to the recent large-scale suspension of production of the brown fused alumina industry in Dengfeng city of Henan Province, the current spot supply of the brown fused alumina has become increasingly tight. Under comprehensive factors, some companies have raised their quotations of brown fused alumina by about 100 yuan/ton. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of brown fused alumina may continue to run at a high level.
Due to the increase in electricity price in Gansu Province, local black silicon carbide producers have raised their quotations. This week, as downstream inventories are gradually digested, customers have to accept higher prices. Therefore, the price of black silicon carbide in China has risen by about RMB 150/ton in this week. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of black silicon carbide may remain high after the price increase.
Although green silicon carbide raw block manufacturers have raised their prices in the past week, as downstream customers refused to accept the price increase, most green silicon carbide granular sand manufacturers can only hold their prices and observe the market further.
According to industry sources, the current price of some green silicon carbide raw blocks has risen by about RMB 300/ton. Therefore, due to the increase in raw material prices, green silicon carbide grain-size sand companies have become more willing to increase prices. It is expected that the price of green silicon carbide grain-size sand may rise accordingly in the short term.
